Aleppo Muhammara
- 3 red bell peppers
- 1 cup walnuts, roughly chopped
- 3/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup pomegranate molasses
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tbsp cumin, ground
- 1 tbsp spicy red pepper paste or harissa, optional
- 1 tsp salt, or to taste
- 1 tsp sugar, optional
- Process the red bell peppers in the food processor until finely chopped.
- In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients together, cover, and refrigerate until ready to serve.
- To serve, spread muhammara into a shallow dish, drill with some extra virgin olive oil and garnish with walnuts.
