Marinara Sauce Perfect Every Time
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, extra virgin preferred
- 4 minced garlic cloves
- 2 tablespoons dried parsley
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon basil
- 14 teaspoon pepper
- 1 dash red pepper (I never use it) (optional)
- 2 (28 ounce) cans chopped tomatoes
- 2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
- Before starting this recipe, measure out all the spices and sugar into a small prep bowl.
- Mince the garlic or you can use the pre chopped jar garlic.
- In a large deep skillet, (I use my large electric skillet) heat olive oil and saute garlic for about 3 minutes until golden, watch carefully so it doesn't get over brown.
- Remove from heat and add the cans of tomato sauce and paste.
- Mix well and then stir in all of the spices and sugar.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer about 30 minutes or until heated thru.
- Fantastic and basically fat free!
- Serve over your choice of pasta noodle and enjoy!
