Maple Syrup and Cranberry Squares

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Crust : Mix flour and brown sugar then incorporate butter until you have a gritty texture.
  3. Press the preparation in a buttered pan of 23 cm x 33 cm (9 inch x 13 inch).
  4. Cook in oven 15 minutes or until crust is golden.
  5. Set aside.
  6. Garnish : In a saucepan, bring to boil the brown sugar and maple syrup and let simmer 5 minutes.
  7. Pour the liquid on the beaten eggs, constantly stirring.
  8. Add rum, flour and salt.
  9. Pour this mixture on the crust, then add nuts and cranberries.
  10. Put back in oven for 20 minutes.
  11. Remove from the oven and let cool before to cut in squares.
