Bob Murray's Top Secret Boiled Fruitcake

  1. Boil together for 3 minutes the first six ingredients.
  2. Cool till lukewarm.
  3. Stir into the mixture: flour, bicarb of soda and baking powder.
  4. Bake in a 20 cm (8inch) deep tin for 2 hours at 300F/150C.
