Angel Squares
- 7 egg whites
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. hot milk
- 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 2 c. flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. salted peanuts
- Grease bottom only of pan.
- Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until soft mound forms.
- Add 1 cup sugar, beating until stiff peaks form.
- Set aside.
- Combine flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder and salt; mix well.
- Add vanilla and hot milk.
- Blend at low speed until moistened; beat 2 minutes at medium speed.
- Pour over egg whites; by hand, fold in carefully just until well combined.
- Pour batter into pan and bake at 350u0b0 for 30 to 35 minutes, or until top springs back.
- Cool.
- Frost and drizzle with chocolate glaze.
- Serve in squares.
