Spiced Apple Rings
- 6 medium apples firm
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 sticks cinnamon
- 3 whole cloves
- 1 1/2 cups cranberry juice nsweetened
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- Wash and core apples; slice unpeeled apples into thick slices.
- Place in flat pan.
- Combine remaining ingredients, and boil 5 minutes.
- Reserve 1/4 cup juice mixture, and set aside.
- Pour remaining juice mixture over apple slices.
- Bake at 350F (180C) for 45 minutes or until apple slices appear transparent; baste occasionally with the 1/4 cup juice mixture.
- Serve Hot or Cold as a garnish for your Salad.
- Or by itself.
