Sweet Cherry French Toast

  1. Place the bread in a greased 15-in.
  2. x 10-in.
  3. x 1-in.
  4. baking pan.
  5. In a bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, syrup, sugar, orange peel and salt.
  6. Pour over bread; turn to coat.
  7. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  8. In a bowl, combine the cherries, orange juice and sugar.
  9. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  10. Transfer bread slices to another greased 15-in.
  11. x 10-in.
  12. x 1-in.
  13. baking pan.
  14. Discard any remaining egg mixture.
  15. Bake at 400 for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown, turning once.
  16. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine cornstarch and water until smooth.
  17. Stir in the reserved cherry mixture.
  18. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
  19. Serve over French toast; drizzle with yogurt.
