Apple and Walnut Brownies

  1. Butter the pan lightly, and dust with flour.
  2. Sift the floury ingredients together.
  3. Cut the apple into 8 wedges.
  4. Combine with the ingredients in a bowl and microwave for 2 minutes at 600w.
  5. Roughly chop the walnuts.
  6. Put the chopped chocolate and butter together and melt in a bowl held over hot water.
  7. Keep it warm on the hot water.
  8. Beat the eggs and mix with the sugar.
  9. Add the melted chocolate and butter from step 3 to the step 4 bowl and mix very well.
  10. Add the sifted flours, and mix until the batter is sticky.
  11. Add the walnuts and the cooked apple, liquid and all, and mix.
  12. Pour the batter into the buttered and dusted pan, and bake in a preheated 180C oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
  13. It's done when a skewer stuck into the middle comes out with a melted chocolate-like batter on it.
  14. Leave to cool.
  15. These are rich brownies with the consistency of soft chocolate truffles.
  16. If you bake it in small cups as shown, the baking time is 10 to 15 minutes.
  17. Chill in the refrigerator to enjoy a moist-rich texture.
  18. if you warm the brownies up slightly, they will be melty-rich.
  19. You can enjoy them in 2 ways.
  20. These are banana brownies- rich brownies with banana.
