Apple and Walnut Brownies
- 1 Apple
- 1 tbsp Granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp Lemon juice
- 150 grams Chocolate
- 100 grams Unsalted butter
- 2 Eggs
- 55 grams Pure cocoa powder
- 45 grams Cake flour
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 60 grams Granulated sugar
- 50 grams Walnuts
- Butter the pan lightly, and dust with flour.
- Sift the floury ingredients together.
- Cut the apple into 8 wedges.
- Combine with the ingredients in a bowl and microwave for 2 minutes at 600w.
- Roughly chop the walnuts.
- Put the chopped chocolate and butter together and melt in a bowl held over hot water.
- Keep it warm on the hot water.
- Beat the eggs and mix with the sugar.
- Add the melted chocolate and butter from step 3 to the step 4 bowl and mix very well.
- Add the sifted flours, and mix until the batter is sticky.
- Add the walnuts and the cooked apple, liquid and all, and mix.
- Pour the batter into the buttered and dusted pan, and bake in a preheated 180C oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
- It's done when a skewer stuck into the middle comes out with a melted chocolate-like batter on it.
- Leave to cool.
- These are rich brownies with the consistency of soft chocolate truffles.
- If you bake it in small cups as shown, the baking time is 10 to 15 minutes.
- Chill in the refrigerator to enjoy a moist-rich texture.
- if you warm the brownies up slightly, they will be melty-rich.
- You can enjoy them in 2 ways.
