Tempura Walleye Sliders with Onion Rings Recipe desnick

  1. get your oil on a medium heat so it starts to heat up while you get everything ready.
  2. organize all of your vegetables, wash your lettuce, cube your avocado and sprinkle half the lemon on it.
  3. add the mayonnaise, 2 or 3 chipotle peppers (more if you want it spicier), a squeeze of lemon and some freshly cracked black pepper to a blender.
  4. 4. cut up the fish fillets in big strips.
  5. read the back of the tempura box and follow the directions for making the batter.
  6. if you have a frying thermometer you want your oil between 350 and 400 degrees.
  7. If you dont have a thermometer take a small onion dip it in the batter and drop it in the oil.
  8. If it starts bubbling up and frying right away you know your good.
  9. If it fizzles and seems to not react much to the oil wait another minute for the oil to get hotter.
  10. once you have your oil figured out fry all the onion rings for 2 to 3 minutes and let them dry off on paper towels and sprinkle them with a little salt when their still hot.
  11. then fry your fish which should cook in 3 to 4 minutes.
  12. put your fish on the paper towels and sprinkle them with salt.
  13. toast your buns or tortillas in a pan with some butter.
  14. put your chipotle mayo, lettuce, avocado and fish on the bun.
  15. If you feel like frying anything else up while youve got the tempura batter and oil go for it.
  16. You can literally get as creative as youve want Ive fried avocado and thin slices of lemon.
