Caramelised Walnuts Made With Fresh Grape Juice
- 2 cups walnut halves
- 2 cups soft brown sugar
- 1 cup fresh grape juice
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch cinnamon
- Take aluminium foil and then line your oven tray with it.
- Brush it lightly with oil and set aside.
- Put the nuts on a dry oven tray.
- Pre-heat your oven to 180C.
- Roast the nuts in the pre-heated oven for 5 minutes or until lightly toasted.
- Remove from oven and allow to cool.
- Take a pan and in it, put the brown sugar, grape juice, salt and cinnamon.
- Stir and cook on medium flame{without boiling} until the sugar has melted completely.
- Bring it to a boil.
- Lower flame slightly and boil for 10-15 minutes or until the mixture turns into a thick syrup.
- Remove the pan from heat.
- Add the roasted walnuts.
- Stir well to coat the nuts in the delicious syrup.
- Line an oven tray with aluminium foil.
- Lift each walnut piece with a fork.
- Place it on the lined tray.
- Allow the caramelised walnuts to cool completely.
- Once the walnuts have cooled completely,store them in between sheets of waxed paper in an airtight container.
- Store for upto 2 days.
- I'm sure, being how delish they are, they'll be gone sooner than that!
