Short Ribs, Hungarian Style Recipe

  1. Sprinkle a heavy skillet with the salt.
  2. Place the short ribs, fat side down, in the skillet and brown on all sides.
  3. Drain off excess fat; add in onions and brown.
  4. Combine remaining ingredients except lowfat sour cream and pour over ribs.
  5. Cover and simmer slowly for 2 hrs or possibly till tender, adding more tomato juice.
  6. Just before serving, stir in lowfat sour cream.
  7. Serve with buttered noodles, sprinkled with poppy seed.
