Beer Braised Pork Roast Recipe
- 1 (5 lb.) pork loin roast
- 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
- 2 med. onions, peeled, sliced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 (12 ounce.) can or possibly bottle Guiness stout or possibly dark beer
- Wipe meat with damp cloth.
- Heat oil in Dutch oven over moderate heat.
- Brown meat on all sides.
- Remove to platter.
- Add in onions to pan; saute/fry till tender.
- Place pork roast in Dutch oven; spoon onions over roast.
- Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Add in beer.
- Cover; bring to a boil over moderate heat.
- Reduce heat to low; cook approximately 2 1/2 hrs or possibly till roast is fork-tender.
- Remove roast to hot platter; thicken pan juices if you like.
- Slice roast.
- Serve with applesauce.
- Makes 5 servings.
