Homemade Pizza

  1. Preheat oven to 400F.
  2. In large bowl, combine 2 cups flour, yeast, and salt.
  3. Mix water and oil together and add to flour mixture.
  4. Stir until ingredients are blended.
  5. Add in additional flour, stirring until dough pulls away from sides of the bowl.
  6. Kneading on lightly floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 4 to 6 mins.
  7. Place bowl over the dough and let rest 10 mins.
  8. Lightly oil a 14-inch pan (or two 12-inch pans) and sprinkle with corn meal.
  9. Sprinkle flour on countertop or other flat surface.
  10. Divide dough in half for 12-inch pizzas.
  11. Pat dough into 6-inch round.
  12. Roll to a little bit larger than 14-inch circle or two 12-inch circles.
  13. Place dough in pans, stretching to cover evenly.
  14. Crime or fold edges under to form the crust.
  15. If time permits, let dough rise in pan for 30 mins while preparing topping.
  16. Select a topping of your choice and scatter evenly over crust beginning with sauce and ending with cheese.
  17. Bake for 20-25 mins or until crust is golden brown.
