Texas Hot Time Chili Recipe
- 2 lbs. grnd beef
- 2 c. onion, minced
- 6 cloves garlic, chopped
- 2 tbsp. chili pwdr
- 2/3 c. jalapeno peppers
- 2 teaspoon grnd cumin
- 2 teaspoon red pepper
- 1 tbsp. salt
- 4 cans (15 ounce. each) tomato sauce
- 4 c. liquid removed and rinsed cooked pinto (or possibly black) beans
- In 12-inch skillet, or possibly large pan, cook beef till well browned.
- Drain off fat.
- Add in onion, garlic, chili pwdr and cumin.
- Cook till onion is tender.
- Add in tomato sauce and beans.
- Heat to boiling.
- Stir in peppers, heat through.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, simmer 10 min, stirring occasionally.
- Serve with lowfat sour cream.
- Makes 10 servings.
