Nutmeg Stamped Cookies

  1. Heat oven to 350F.
  2. Combine flour, powdered sugar, lemon zest and 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg in bowl; cut in butter with pastry blender or fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Stir in egg yolk until dough forms a ball.
  4. Combine sugar and 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg in bowl.
  5. Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
  6. Roll balls in sugar mixture.
  7. Place onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  8. Flatten ball with cookie stamp or bottom of glass to 1/4-inch thickness.
  9. Bake 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
