Nutmeg Stamped Cookies
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon freshly grated lemon zest
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 2/3 cup cold Land O Lakes Butter
- 1 Land O Lakes Egg (yolk only)
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Heat oven to 350F.
- Combine flour, powdered sugar, lemon zest and 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg in bowl; cut in butter with pastry blender or fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in egg yolk until dough forms a ball.
- Combine sugar and 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg in bowl.
- Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
- Roll balls in sugar mixture.
- Place onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Flatten ball with cookie stamp or bottom of glass to 1/4-inch thickness.
- Bake 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
