- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 2 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Honey
- 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine
- 1 tsp Oyster sauce
- 1/4 tsp Chinese five spice powder
- 1 tsp Juice from grated ginger
- Cut the meat into 1 cm slices.
- Add all the flavoring ingredients and rub in.
- Rest for about 1 hour.
- Put an aluminium foil lined tray in the oven, and heat.
- You can do this quickly by heating under a fish grill.
- If you refrigerated the meat while it was marinating, make sure to bring it back to room temperature before roasting it.
- Roast the pork for 4 minutes at 740 W. Take it out and brush with the marinade.
- Turn the pork over, and roast for another 4 minutes at 740 W. Repeat once more (4 minutes x 3 turns for a total of 12 minutes).
- Crank up the heat to 1000 W and cook the pork on both sides for 1 minute each to brown.
- Done!
- If you cut it up into 5 mm cubes, it's perfect for fried rice!
- This is char siu chicken made with chicken legs.
- The marinade is the same, but you only have to marinate chicken for about 15 minutes.
- Adjust the cooking time as necessary.
