Cherry Chocolate Pie
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 12 cup cold butter
- 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
- 14-12 teaspoon almond extract
- whipped cream (optional)
- maraschino cherry (optional)
- For crust:.
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar and salt.
- Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Press firmly onto the bottom and sides of a 9 in pie plate.
- Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool completely.
- For pie filling:.
- In a saucepan, combine milk.
- chocolate chips, and salt.
- Cook, stirring over low heat until chocolate melts.
- Stir in cherry pie filling and almond extract.
- Pour into the cooled crust.
- Chill 2-3 hours or until firm.
- Garnish with whipped cream and marschino cherries, if desired.
