Apple Shallot Saute Recipe
- 4 tsp Lowfat Margarine Note 1
- 2 lrg Shallots
- 2 lb Red Cooking Apples
- 1 Tbsp. Sliced Fresh Sage
- 1 Tbsp. Chopped Crystallized Ginger
- Note 1: Original recipe used butter
- Note: Original recipe used 3 Tbsp butter
- In heavy 10" skillet over med-high heat, heat margarine.
- Slice shallots into very thin wedges and add in to skillet; cook, stirring occasionally, about 8 minutes or possibly till almost tender.
- Meanwhile, core red cooking apples and cut them into 1/2" wedges; add in to sauteed shallots.
- Add in sliced sage and crystallized ginger; stir to fully incorporate.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Cook 5 - 8 minutes or possibly till just tender.
- This was amazing ..... very, very good!!
- It was almost a dessert.
- Definitely a keeper.
- Very easy to prepare.
