Candied Orange Zest Recipe
- 45 x Navel oranges, peeled, no remaining pith, cut into 2" long strips
- 1 c. Sugar
- 1 c. Water
- 3 c. Sugar, for crystallizing
- Heat the 1 c. of sugar and water to a boil.
- Add in peels and simmer till they are transparent, about 12 min.
- Syrup should be thick.
- Remove from syrup and toss in sugar, let dry, away from humidity.
- Store in an airtight tin.
- TIP: RED ORANGES
- Use blood oranges in your favorite recipes as you would orange regular oranges.
- Taste for sweetness, you may have to add in a bit more sugar in some
