Saucy Chocolate Pudding
- 3/4 cup flour, self-rising sifted
- 3/4 cup sugar sifted
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder sifted
- 2 each eggs
- 75 grams butter very soft
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup sugar FOR SAUCE
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder FOR SAUCE
- 75 grams butter FOR SAUCE
- 1 cup water boiling FOR SAUCE
- 1 cup milk FOR SAUCE
- Preheat the oven to 180c.
- Grease a large ovenproof dish (8 cup capacity.
- Sift the flour, sugar and cocoa into a bowl.
- Add two eggs, butter and milk.
- Beat at meduim speed with an eletric mixer or rotary beater for 3 minutes.
- Beat in baking powder, then turn the mixture into the dish.
- SAUCE:
- Combine the sauce ingredents in a saucepan and bring to the boil, stirring.
- Pour the mixture over the back of a spoon onto the pudding.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes or untill the top of the pudding springs back when touched lightly.
- Serve with cream, ice cream or De Winkle natural yoghurt.
