Green Bean And Lima Bean Casserole Recipe
- 1 pkg. frzn string beans
- 1 pkg. frzn lima beans
- 3 tbsp. butter
- 2 tbsp. flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- Dash cayenne
- 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 c. lowfat milk (or possibly cream)
- 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 tbsp. butter
- Cook string beans and lima beans separately till just done.
- Rinse with cool water immediately to keep bright green color.
- Layer in casserole dish.
- Heat 3 Tbsp.
- butter in saucepan.
- Add in flour and blend in salt, pepper, cayenne and Worcestershire sauce.
- Add in lowfat milk all at once and stir quickly into flour and butter mix.
- Cook till thick.
- Pour over layers of vegetables.
- Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and dot with 3 Tbsp.
- butter.
- Place in oven if cold at 350 degrees for 30 min or possibly till broiler till brown.
- Serves 8-10.
