Peanut-Apple French Toast
- 1 carton (500 g) liquid eggs
- 1/4 cup skim milk
- 2 Tbsp. maple syrup
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 8 whole grain bread (1/2-inch thick)
- 1/2 cup Kraft All Natural Peanut Butter
- 1 medium Granny Smith apple, sliced
- 1 Tbsp. margarine
- Beat eggs, milk, syrup, cinnamon and nutmeg in shallow dish with wire whisk until well blended; set aside.
- Spread 4 of the bread slices evenly with peanut butter; top with apples.
- Cover with remaining 4 bread slices.
- Melt margarine in medium nonstick skillet on medium heat.
- Add two of the sandwiches to egg mixture; let stand 1 min., turning after 30 sec.
- Add to skillet; cook 2 to 3 min.
- on each side or until golden brown on both sides.
- Repeat with remaining two sandwiches.
- Cut each sandwich in half to serve.
