Chocolate Cake With Chocolate Buttercream

  1. Heat oven to 350F.
  2. Grease and flour 13x9-inch baking pan; set aside.
  3. Combine sugar and 1/2 cup butter in bowl.
  4. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy.
  5. Add milk, 2 ounces melted chocolate, eggs and vanilla; continue beating until smooth.
  6. Add flour, baking soda and salt; beat at low speed until well mixed.
  7. Add boiling water; continue beating until smooth.
  8. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  9. Bake 40-45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  10. Cool completely.
  11. Place 1/2 cup butter in bowl.
  12. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy.
  13. Gradually add powdered sugar, cocoa and salt alternately with whipping cream and 1 ounce melted chocolate, scraping bowl often and beating well after each addition.
  14. Stir in corn syrup.
  15. Frost cooled cake.
