Pasta with Ham and Tricolor Peppers

  1. Heat large, covered saucepot of salted water to boiling over high heat.
  2. Add pasta and cook as label directs.
  3. Meanwhile, in 12-inch skillet, heat oil over medium heat.
  4. Add peppers and cook, covered, about 10 minutes, until very soft and lightly browned, stirring occasionally.
  5. Stir in ham, garlic, salt, and black pepper; cook 1 minute.
  6. Drain pasta, reserving 1/2 cup pasta cooking water.
  7. In large serving bowl, toss pasta with pepper mixture and reserved cooking water; top with basil and Parmesan.
  8. Toss to serve.
