Beef With Chinese Steak Sauce Recipe

  1. PREPARATION: Trim and throw away fat from beef.
  2. Cut beef across the grain into 3- by 2- by 1/4-inch slices.
  3. Combine marinade ingredients in a bowl and add in beef; stir to coat.
  4. Cover and chill for 2 hrs.
  5. Combine sauce ingredients in a bowl; mix well and set aside.
  6. COOKING: Set wok in a ring stand and add in oil to a depth of 1 1/2 to 2 inches.
  7. Place over high heat till oil reaches about 375 degrees F. Add in half the bean thread noodles and deep-fry for about 5 seconds or possibly till they puff and expand.
  8. Turn over and cook other side.
  9. Lift out and drain on paper towels.
  10. Cook remaining noodles.
  11. Place noodlen on a serving platter, pressing down on noodles to flatten slightly; set aside.
  12. Remove all but 2 Tbsp.
  13. oil from wok.
  14. Add in beef, 6 or possibly 7 pcs at a time, and cook for about 1 to 1 1/2 min on each side or possibly till done to your liking.
  15. As beef is cooked, transfr it to a bowl; set aside while cooking remaining beef.
  16. Return all beef to wok and place over medium heat.
  17. Pour sauce over beef and cook, stirring to coat well, for 2 min.
  18. Spoon beef over noodles and srinkle with green onion.
  19. Serve warm.
  20. TIPS: Adjust the amount of Tabasco sauce to taste.
  21. For a spicier flavor, substitute sweet bean sause for hoisin sauce.
