Creamy Citrus & Herb Asparagus
- 2 lb. fresh asparagus spears, trimmed
- 1 Tbsp. water
- 1 cup fat-free reduced-sodium chicken broth
- 1/2 cup (1/2 of 8-oz. tub) PHILADELPHIA Chive & Onion Cream Cheese Spread
- 1 tsp. lime zest Safeway 3 ct For $1.00 thru 02/09
- 1 tsp. chopped fresh tarragon
- 1/4 tsp. ground red pepper (cayenne)
- Microwave asparagus and water in covered microwaveable dish on HIGH 4 to 5 min.
- or until asparagus is crisp-tender.
- Meanwhile, heat broth in small saucepan.
- Add cream cheese spread; cook and stir until cream cheese is completely melted and sauce is slightly thickened.
- Stir in zest and seasonings.
- Drain asparagus.
- Serve topped with sauce.
