BoilerMaker BBQ Sauce
- 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 md. onion, finely chopped
- 2 lg. garlic cloves, minced
- 12 oz. chile sauce
- 3/4 cup beer
- 1/4 cup unsulfured (light) molasses
- 3 tbsp. cider vinegar
- 3 tbsp. bourbon whiskey
- 1-1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp. hot pepper sauce
- Heat the oil in a heavy medium saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the onion and the garlic saute until tender, around 8 minutes, then reduce the heat.
- Add the chili sauce, molasses, beer, vinegar, whiskey and the Worcestershire sauce.
- Simmer until it has reduced to 2 cups, stirring occasionally, for about 25 minutes.
- Stir in the hot pepper sauce.
