Caramel Nut Crunch
- 6 cups bite-size shredded wheat cereal
- 1 cup each: raisins & coarsely chopped natural almonds
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/3 cup butter or margarine
- 3 Tbsp. corn syrup
- 1/4 tsp. each: salt & baking soda
- COMBINE cereal, raisins & almonds.
- Place on a greased baking sheet.
- COMBINE brown sugar, butter, corn syrup & salt in a saucepan.
- Bring to a boil over high heat.
- Cook for 1-1/2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat.
- Add baking soda.
- TOSS brown sugar mixture with cereal mixture.
- BAKE at 325F for 12 minutes, stirring after 6 minutes.
- Remove & cool.
