Krispie Treat Brownies W/M & M's from a Box

  1. Prepare and cool brownie mix in 9 x 9 pan as directed.
  2. In medium microwave-safe bowl, combine the mini marshmallows, butter and peanut butter.
  3. Heat on high in 30-second bursts, stirring between bursts, until melted and smooth.
  4. Stir in the Rice Krispies.
  5. Using oiled or damp hands, press the cereal mixture over the top of the cooled brownies, forming it into an even layer.
  6. Set aside to cool.
  7. Meanwhile, to make the ganache, in a small saucepan over medium-low, bring the cream to a simmer.
  8. Add the chocolate chips and let sit for 1 minute.
  9. Using a silicone spatula or wooden spoon, stir the cream and chocolate chips until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
  10. Pour the ganache over the rice treat layer and spread to the edges of the pan.
  11. Sprinkle M&Ms over ganache layer.
  12. Let cool until the chocolate is set before cutting into 16 squares.
  13. Treats are so rich you don't need the squares to be so big!
  14. Wrap tightly in airtight container.
