Pasta Cakes & Shrimp with A.1.
- Sauce
- 3 cups A.1. Original Sauce
- 1-1/2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1-1/2 cups HEINZ Tomato Ketchup
- 3/4 cup dry sherry (optional)
- 1/3 cup black pepper
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 2 Tbsp. garlic, minced
- 1 Tbsp. gingerroot, minced
- 1 Tbsp. crushed red pepper
- Pasta Cakes
- 1-1/2 gal. angel hair pasta, cooked, drained
- 1 qt. red bell peppers, chopped Target 1 pkg For $2.99 thru 02/06
- 1 qt. green bell peppers, chopped Target 1 pkg For $2.99 thru 02/06
- 2-1/2 cups seasoned dry bread crumbs
- 1-1/2 cups KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese
- 3/4 cup green onions, thinly sliced
- 2 Tbsp. garlic, minced
- 12 each eggs, lightly beaten
- 1-1/2 cups canola oil
- Shrimp
- 144 each medium shrimp, peeled, deveined
- Sauce Combine steak sauce, sugar, ketchup, sherry, black pepper, olive oil, garlic, ginger and crushed red pepper; set aside.
- Pasta Cakes Toss pasta with bell peppers, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, onions, garlic and eggs.
- Shape into 48 cakes (or 6 cakes for trial recipe), using about 1/2 cup of the pasta mixture for each pasta cake.
- Heat oil in large nonstick skillet on medium heat.
- Add pasta cakes, in batches; cook 5 min.
- on each side or until golden brown on both sides.
- Shrimp Dip shrimp into prepared Sauce, turning to evenly coat both sides.
- Grill 4 to 5 min.
- or until shrimp are cooked through, turning occasionally.
- For each portion, serve 2 pasta cakes with 6 shrimp.
