Biscuits & Gravy Recipe
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 2 tbsp. flour
- 2 c. lowfat milk, heated
- 3 breakfast sausage
- Salt & white pepper to taste
- Warm biscuits
- Heat butter in a medium saucepan.
- Add in flour and cook over low heat, stirring constantly for 8-10 min.
- Don't allow mix to brown.
- Gradually add in warm lowfat milk to butter-flour mix, stirring constantly with a whisk, till sauce is thickened and smooth.
- Simmer for 5 min.
- Strain and keep hot.
- Remove skin and cut sausages into small pcs.
- Brown in skillet till cooked.
- Drain off fat and add in sausage to strained warm gravy.
- Reheat.
- Add in salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve over split, warm biscuits.
- Yield: 3 c..
