Sangria Peaches

  1. Using a heavy saucepan, combine all the syrup ingredients (wine through lemon zest).
  2. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Reduce heat and let simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Taste.
  5. If needed, add an additional tablespoon of Triple Sec or sugar, or both, to adjust to your own taste.
  6. It should be pleasantly sweet.
  7. Continue simmering another 5 minutes.
  8. Remove from heat and let cool at least 10 minutes.
  9. Place the peaches in a bowl, and pour the syrup over the peaches.
  10. Cover the bowl and refrigerate at least 4 hours.
  11. Serve peaches chilled with some of the syrup spooned over them.
