Honey and Spice Pears

  1. Wash, peel, core, and halve pears.
  2. In 4-6 qt.
  3. kettle combine remaining ingredients.
  4. Bring to boiling; reduce heat; simmer uncovered 5 minutes.
  5. Add pears.
  6. Cook, turning often, until almost tender, about 5 minutes.
  7. Pack hot pears into hot sterilized jars, leaving 1/2 inch head-space.
  8. Cover with hot syrup, leaving 1/2 inch head space.
  9. Adjust lids.
  10. Process in boiling water bath for 15 minutes for pints.
