Edie's Steak Soup
- 2 lb. ground chuck, browned
- 1 stick oleo
- margarine
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 carrots, diced
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 stalks celery, diced
- 2 md. potatoes, diced
- 1 pkg. frozen mixed vegetables
- 1 can (15) tomatoes
- 4 beef bouillon cubes
- Salt, pepper and garlic salt
- garlic, to taste
- In dutch oven size pan melt margarine.
- Add flour and stir until smooth.
- Add 2 cups water, stir until smooth.
- Add 3 cups more water, carrots, celery, potatoes, mixed vegetables, tomatoes, bouillon cubes, salt, pepper and garlic.
- In separate pan brown meat and cook onion.
- Drain.
- Add to dutch oven.
- Simmer 1-1/2 hours.
- Freezes well.
