British Shepherds Pie Recipe
- Serving Size: 4
- 1 1/2 lb grnd beef
- 1 c. carrot -- diced
- 1/2 c. onion -- diced
- 1 c. corn
- 2 x cloves garlic -- crushed
- 1 c. beef stock
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 Tbsp. steak sauce
- 1/2 c. gravy, dry mix, brown
- 2 lb potato -- mashed
- 1 c. water
- Brown grnd beef with onions.
- In a skillet on medium high heat Add in garlic, beef stock, Worcestershire sauce, steak sauce and vegetables.
- Finish cooking.
- Add in Salt and Pepper to taste.
- Cook potatoes in water with a dash of salt, mash cooked potatoes and set aside.
- Pour the dry gravy mix into bowl & mix with 1 c. of cool water.
- Mix gravy mix back into pan containing beef and vegetables, stirring continuously until thickened.
- Pour mix into a baking dish and allow to cold.
- When cold, spoon mashed potato over mix, bake in Oven until golden approx.
- 20-25 min at 350 degrees.
- Serving Ideas: Serve with Peas and crusty bread, you can also finish this off by topping with Grated cheddar cheese and sliced tomatoes
- NOTES: Heat the pie slowly in the oven at 300degrees till mashed topping browns, you can also add in some grated cheddar to the top.
- Best served with crusty bread
