Layered Tostada Bake
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1 envelope taco seasoning
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 (16 oz.) can refried beans
- 1 (4 oz.) can whole green chilies, drained, seeded and chopped
- 1 c. sour cream
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 c. Bisquick baking mix
- 1/2 c. cornmeal
- 1/4 c. milk
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 1 egg
- 1 (2 1/4 oz.) can sliced ripe olives, drained
- 2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
- Heat oven to 375u0b0.
- Grease oblong baking dish, 12 x 7 1/2 x 2-inch.
- Cook and stir ground beef and onion until browned. Drain.
- Stir in seasoning mix, tomato sauce, beans, chilies and olives.
- Mix 1 egg, baking mix, cornmeal, milk and oil until moistened; beat vigorously for 30 seconds.
- Spread dough in dish. Spoon beef mixture over dough.
- Mix sour cream, 1 egg and cheese. Spoon over beef mixture.
- Bake for 30 minutes; let stand 10 minutes before cutting.
- Garnish with green pepper ring if desired.
- Makes 6 to 8 servings.
