Sunday Special Pasta, Salami Combo Platter
- 4 whole Tomatoes, Roughly Chopped
- 1 whole Onion (cut Roughly)
- 1 teaspoon Ginger Paste
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Paste
- 18 ounces, weight Red Chili Powder
- 4 cups Pasta (choose Your Favorite Shape)
- 20 slices Chicken Salami
- 18 ounces, weight Salt
- 4 Tablespoons Mayonnaise
- My children love pasta as well as salami.
- So I wanted to treat them with a combination of both on a beautiful Sunday.
- For the tomato salsa: Combine tomato, onion, ginger, garlic, salt and chili powder in the bowl of your mixer/food processor.
- Process until its chunky, then set aside.
- Boil the pasta in water according to package instructions, but do not overcook.
- Place the tomato mixture in a pan and cook on medium heat, stirring continuously.
- After 5 minutes add pasta and cook again for 5 minutes.
- Please do not over do it.
- The pasta should retain its shape and the sauce should not dry up.
- For the salami: Cut salami into even slices and lightly cook it in a microwave or skillet over medium heat, just to give it a light brown color.
- It should not be cooked for more than 2 to 3 minutes on each side.
- For the presentation: Take a flat tray.
- Arrange the slices of salami in the center in a row.
- On both sides spread the pasta mixture.
- Top the salami with a dollop of mayonnaise (you can do this with a piping bag if desired).
- You can serve extra mayonnaise in a small bowl.
