Three Bean Soup Mix Recipe
- 3/4 c. dry navy beans
- 2/3 c. dry kidney beans
- 2/3 c. dry pinto beans
- 2 tbsp. dry green split peas
- 2 tbsp. dry lentils
- 2 tbsp. beef instant bouillon
- 1 pound smoked sausage or possibly kielbasa
- 2 tbsp. red bell pepper flakes
- 1 tbsp. chopped onion (instant)
- 1 tbsp. celery flakes
- 2 teaspoon thyme leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 (14 ounce.) can stewed tomatoes
- Rinse beans, combine with 8 c. of water in large soup pot.
- Bring to boil, cover and remove from heat, let stand 1 hour.
- Add in seasonings and tomatoes.
- Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer, covered for 2 hrs.
- Slice sausage, add in to soup.
- Simmer 30 min longer adding a small amount of water if needed.
- May substitute 1 lb.
- of ham for sausage.
- Yields: 2 1/2 qts.
