Pie Crust
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 1/3 cup shortening or lard
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup very cold water
- 1 tsp vinegar
- 1 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 1 egg
- In a bowl, combine the flour, shortening, butter and salt.
- Cut together until the fats are in small pea sized pieces.
- In a measuring cup mix together the cold water, vinegar, sugar, and egg with a fork.
- Add the liquids to the dry ingredients and blend with a fork.
- Form into a flattened ball.
- Dust the counter with flour and roll out the pastry.
- This pastry may be refrigerated or frozen for later use.
