Lettuce Wraps with Turkey, Almond, Red Bell Pepper & Cilantro Filling
- 1/2 whole Onion
- 1/2 cups Cilantro
- 1 whole Red Bell Pepper, Stem And Seeds Removed
- 3 cloves Garlic
- 8 Tablespoons Hoisin Sauce
- 3 Tablespoons Sambal Chili Paste
- 1 Tablespoon Roasted Sesame Seed
- 2 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil Or As Needed For Saute Pan
- 1- 1/4 pound Low Fat Ground Turkey
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 1/2 teaspoons Pepper
- 1/2 cups Sliced Almonds
- 1 head Butter Lettuce
- 1.
- Dice onion, cilantro leaves and red bell pepper.
- Leave aside.

- Mince garlic.
- 3.
- Prepare sauce.
- In a small bowl, add Hoisin sauce, Sambal and sesame seeds, and mix together.
- Leave aside.

- In a large saute pan or wok, over medium-high heat, heat the oil.
- Add garlic and saute for about 15 seconds.
- Add ground turkey, salt and pepper.
- Stir and break up the meat as it cooks.
- Once turkey is fully cooked and browned, transfer it to a bowl.

- Drain any extra liquid from the turkey out of the pan.
- 6.
- In the same hot pan, add a little extra oil.
- Add bell pepper and onion, and saute for 2-3 minutes until vegetables are wilted but still retain a little crunch.

- Add turkey and sauce.
- Toss and cook until sauce covers turkey and vegetables.
- Finally add almonds and cilantro.
- Give a final toss so all the flavors come together.
- 8.
- On a plate, place a lettuce leaf.
- With a spoon, place some of the filling in the leaf.
- With your hand, fold the lettuce over the filling and pop it in your mouth.
- Serves 4.
