Fish in creamy yoghurt sauce

  1. Wash the fish pieces and keep in a large bowl.
  2. Prepare the marinade by mixing the yoghurt, onion paste, Ginger paste, garlic paste, turmeric and chilli powder in a bowl.
  3. Mix properly.
  4. Add salt to taste.
  5. Pour the marinade over the fish.
  6. Let it marinade for at least two hours.
  7. To prepare the curry, heat a large pan.
  8. Add the mustard oil.
  9. When the oil is hot, add the whole spices- bay leaves, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, and peppercorns.
  10. Fry the spices for a few seconds and then add the chopped onion.
  11. Fry until onion appears transparent.
  12. Add the fish pieces to the pan along with the marinade.
  13. Gently mix the fish with the sauce or gravy.
  14. Make sure to do this carefully to avoid breaking the fish.
  15. Let it simmer for at least 10 mind or until the fish is cooked.
  16. Serve the dish with boiled white rice.
