French Picnic Loaf
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1 lb. ground pork
- 1 lb. cooked ham, diced 1/4-inch
- 3 c. soft bread crumbs
- 3 large eggs
- 2/3 c. ketchup
- 1 (4 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, drained
- 1 medium green pepper, finely chopped
- 1 envelope onion soup mix
- 1 tsp. ground allspice
- 1/2 tsp. ground thyme
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- watercress (for garnish)
- French bread
- Combine all ingredients except watercress and French bread in large bowl; mix well.
- Shape into loaf in rectangular baking pan. Bake in preheated 325u0b0 oven until meat thermometer inserted into center registers 170u0b0, about 1 1/2 hours.
- Cool on wire rack; refrigerate until cold.
- Garnish with watercress; serve with French bread.
