Malai Kofta Kabab Curry
- 1/2 cup Philadelphia Herb & Garlic Cream Cheese Product, divided
- 2 Tbsp. milk
- 1 lb. (450 g) extra-lean ground beef King Sooper's 1 lb For $3.99 thru 02/09
- 1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs
- 1-1/2 tsp. each garam masala, ground coriander, ground cumin and dried fenugreek leaves, divided
- 1 tsp. red chili powder or cayenne pepper, divided
- 1 Tbsp. oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped King Sooper's 1 lb For $0.99 thru 02/09
- 1 Tbsp. minced gingerroot
- 1/2 tsp. cumin seed
- 2/3 cup water
- 2 Tbsp. chopped fresh coriander (cilantro)
- 2-2/3 cups hot cooked basmati rice
- Heat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Mix 2 Tbsp.
- cream cheese product and milk in medium bowl until blended.
- Add meat; bread crumbs; 1 tsp.
- each garam masala, ground coriander, ground cumin and fenugreek; and 1/2 tsp.
- chili powder just until blended.
- Shape into 16 balls, using 2 Tbsp.
- for each.
- Place on parchment-covered rimmed baking sheet; flatten slightly.
- Bake 5 min.
- on each side.
- Meanwhile, heat oil in large skillet on medium-high heat.
- Add onions, ginger and cumin seed; cook 10 min.
- or until onions are softened, stirring frequently.
- Add remaining cream cheese product, remaining dry seasonings and water; mix well.
- Simmer on medium-low heat 5 min.
- or until slightly thickened, stirring frequently.
- Add meat kababs to sauce; stir gently to evenly coat.
- Cover; simmer 10 min.
- or until kabobs are done (160 degrees F), stirring occasionally.
- Sprinkle with fresh coriander.
- Serve with rice.
