Nikki's Bacon Mac n Cheese
- 1 lb cooked (al dente) penne pasta
- 2 9 oz pouches Pregresso Recipe Starters 3 cheese cooking sauce
- 1/4 cup light cream
- 1/2 cup milk (or just use 3/4 cup if you dont have cream)
- 4 cup shredded extra sharp cheddar cheese
- 8 slice american cheese
- 8 slice cooked and crumbled crispy bacon
- 2 tbsp yellow mustard
- 1 dash white pepper
- 1/2 cup italian panko bread crumbs with cheese (or just mix plain panko with italian bread crumbs)
- preheat oven to 400, spray 3 quart casserole with cooking spray.
- in a 3 quart saucepan, heat cheese sauce, milk, and cream to boiling.
- stir.
- remove from heat and stir in mustard, american cheese, 2 cups cheddar, and pepper.
- stir until cheeses are melted.
- add pasta and half the bacon, mix well.
- spoon pasta mix into casserole, top with remaining cheddar.
- bake uncovered about 15 minutes and cheese is bubbly.
- sprinkle with bread crumbs and cook an additional 5 minutes.
- enjoy!
- **note: measurements for cheddar and bacon are suggestions based on what i use, feel free to add more if you prefer!
