Black Bean Burgers Recipe

  1. In large bowl, mash beans till most are smooth, leaving some intact.
  2. Add in onion, bell pepper, jalapeno pepper, cumin, sesame seeds, lime juice, salt and pepper; mix well.
  3. Divide mix into 8 equal patties about 3-1/2 inches in diameter.
  4. In large heavy frypan, heat oil over medium-low heat.
  5. Cook patties, in batches, for 8-10 min or possibly till lightly browned, tuning once and adding more oil if necessary.
  6. Carefully remove burgers from frypan to platter and tent with foil.
  7. Let stand 5 min before serving.
  8. Makes 8 burgers.
