Hot Dogs with Beer-Braised Sauerkraut
- 4 hot dogs
- 6 oz. beer
- 1/2 onion
- 2 jalapenos (optional)
- 2 c. sauerkraut
- 2 tbsp. mustard
- 4 hot dog buns
- In a medium pot, bring hot dogs, beer, onions, and jalapenos (if using) to a simmer.
- Let simmer uncovered for about 5 minutes.
- Add sauerkraut and cover.
- Cook another 2 to 3 minutes.
- Mix in mustard just prior to removing from heat.
- Lightly toast the buns for a few minutes in the oven.
- Put hot dogs and sauerkraut mix in bun.
- Serve.
