Chocolate Cherry Kisses

  1. Preheat oven to 325.
  2. Beat butter about 30 seconds, add powdered sugar and salt; beat until combined.
  3. Beat in 2 teaspoons cherry liquid and almond extract.
  4. Beat in flour.
  5. Stir in cherries.
  6. Shape dough into 1 inches balls.
  7. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
  8. Dip a glass into the cherry liquid, then into granulated sugar and flatten the cookie.
  9. Bake about 14 minutes or until bottoms are lightly browned.
  10. If desired, press a chocolate kiss onto the top of each cookie.
  11. Cool on wire rack.
