Chocolate Cherry Kisses
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 18 teaspoon salt
- 4 teaspoons marachino cherry liquid, halved
- 14 teaspoon almond extract
- 2 14 cups all-purpose flour
- 12 cup chopped maraschino cherry
- granulated sugar
- 48 chocolate Hershey chocolate kisses
- Preheat oven to 325.
- Beat butter about 30 seconds, add powdered sugar and salt; beat until combined.
- Beat in 2 teaspoons cherry liquid and almond extract.
- Beat in flour.
- Stir in cherries.
- Shape dough into 1 inches balls.
- Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Dip a glass into the cherry liquid, then into granulated sugar and flatten the cookie.
- Bake about 14 minutes or until bottoms are lightly browned.
- If desired, press a chocolate kiss onto the top of each cookie.
- Cool on wire rack.
