Orange Cranberry Pork Chops

  1. Trim fat from pork chops; brown in shortening in a large skillet.
  2. Drain, if necessary.
  3. Add water and salt; cover and cook over medium heat 45 to 50 minutes or until done.
  4. Add sugar, corn syrup, orange peel, oranges, and cranberries.
  5. Cook an additional 5 minutes.
  6. Serve over rice.
