Browned Butter Blondies

  1. Melt butter in heavy 2-quart saucepan over medium-high heat.
  2. Continue cooking, watching closely, 5 minutes or until butter foams and turns deep golden brown.
  3. Immediately remove from heat; pour into bowl.
  4. Refrigerate 15 minutes.
  5. Heat oven to 375 degrees F. Line 13x9-inch baking pan with aluminum foil, extending foil over edges.
  6. Spray bottom of foil-lined pan with no-stick cooking spray; set aside.
  7. Add brown sugar, egg and vanilla to cooled browned butter; mix well.
  8. Add flour, baking powder and salt; stir just until combined.
  9. Stir in pecans and white baking chips.
  10. Spread into prepared pan.
  11. Bake 19-23 minutes or until golden brown around edges and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  12. Cool completely.
  13. Lift blondies from pan, using foil ends.
  14. Cut into squares.
