Spicy Mashed Sweet Potatoes with Raisins
- 2 pounds sweet potatoes
- Salt
- 6 tablespoons butter
- Pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons black or golden raisins, soaked in water for 15 minutes
- Peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into pieces.
- Boil in salted water for about 1520 minutes, until soft.
- Drain and mash with a fork.
- Add butter, salt and pepper, ginger, and cinnamon, and beat well.
- Then add the drained raisins.
